CHIT CHAT: The first WordCamp north of Los Angeles (#WCLAX) and south of Sacrament (#WCSAC) since 2014. We’re the fifth annual WordCamp in Southern California. Here’s a look back at chatter on Twitter surrounding the event.
I dreamed of this day. Like the phantom pain that first appeared in my left arm, then my right, and chest that my doctors couldn’t diagnose for five years, suddenly materializing in an instant- WordCamp Santa Clarita presented itself to the WordPress Community April 5-6, 2019.

WordCamp Phoenix (#wcphx) closed the circle for me. In presenting a Lighting Talk and participating in a Contributor Day panel, I had given a talk at WordPress in all current formats. Here’s a look back at the first West Coast WordCamp of 2019, February 15-17 in the Valley of the Sun.

This August night was no different if you have your Meetup 52 FLOORS ABOVE DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, ARE TREATED TO AN EVENING WITH CHRIS DO, and you’re FEATURED PROMINENTLY ON A SEGMENT FOR HIS POPULAR YOUTUBE CHANNEL SHOW! Not to sound all Fan Boy and such but this was (yet again) another example of why the WordPress Community is so cool!
Jeff Large, an entrepreneur and leading voice in Podcasting space and a fellow presenter sat at a table with a beer and over the next 48 hours we had genuine conversations about family, business, toys, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and our connections to WordPress. We connected over the weekend, hung out at one another’s talks, after parties, then went our separate ways. We stayed in touch over media channels – until he called on me to appear on his show, the Jeff Large Podcast, “Cherish Life Every Day”, September 20, 2018.
My first exposure to the concept of a WordCamp was here in Los Angeles, my hometown. The location and faces have changed, but the things that make the WordPress Open Source Project such a cool Community experience still remain and burn as strong as ever.
